Amanda Ward, APRN

Amanda Ward, APRN

Amanda is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners board certified family nurse practitioner.

Amanda is a Central Florida Native, born and raised in Seminole County. She has always loved interacting with and caring for others. Through her childhood and school years, she discovered a curiosity over and love for figuring out how things work and why.

She graduated from Seminole High School’s Academy of Health Careers with her Nursing Assistant certificate and has been blessed with the work of caring for people professionally ever since. She graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Seminole State College and started work as a RN at a local hospital on the Surgical and Oncology floor. She went on to get her Bachelors in Nursing from UCF and followed a deep passion for women’s health. After graduation, she transitioned to work on the Labor and Delivery floor. She Graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing from South University in 2019 and has been working as a Family Nurse practitioner in acute and primary care for people of all ages.

She is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners board certified family nurse practitioner. She is currently enrolled at the school of Applied Functional Medicine to obtain their Applied Functional Medicine Certification. Amanda has been working in health care for over 19 years with experience in geriatric, post-surgical, oncology, women’s health, and family medicine in a primary and acute care capacity.

Amanda has a respect for modern medicine especially in the roles of urgent or emergent care but knows that we can do better for our patients when it comes to chronic care and prevention. Her desire is not to limit herself to simply diagnosing and prescribing treatment for diseases, disorders, or symptoms but to have the time and space to dig into her patient’s current concerns, lifestyle, and stressors as well as their individual history. This will allow the discovery of what is driving health issues in the first place. She knows that if we go upstream to find the root of the problem that it will enable us to better assist in improving or eliminating them all together. She has an individualized approach because each person has a unique reason why they have developed their health issues. She desires to empower her patients, throughout their life, to find their way to true and lasting health. She encourages her patient’s in maintaining appropriate screening exams and will refer to more traditional care modalities as needed. She views integrative and functional medicine as part of the health care approach for each patient.

Amanda loves to spend her time outside of the office with her family, friends, church family and pup. You can find her puttering in her garden, exploring the natural beauty that Florida has to offer, enjoying the night sky, snuggling up with her babies for books and movie nights, cooking at home and listening to great music

She is excited to start this health care journey with members of her community: the world needs who you were created to be!
