Cancer Cell Genetic Testing

World’s Most Technologically Advanced Cancer Cell Genetic Testing and Support Program

The Whole Patient Cancer Support Program offered by Whole Family Healthcare in Winter Park, Florida is proud to be one of a very select group of integrative practices offering highly advanced cancer genomic testing (and the addition of a renowned, holistic cancer support program) through a pioneering lab known as RGCC. www.RGCC-group.com. This lab leads the field in the areas of cancer genetics, chemo-sensitivity testing and chemo-resistance testing. One of its most highly regarded and sought after tests is known as  the Onconomics Plus which is able to test populations of isolated cancer stem cells obtained from blood for sensitivity to an array of natural and herbal substances. Its test panel includes curcumin, medicinal mushroom extracts, vitamin C and many other of the most highly touted anti-cancer extracts known around the world for their documented ability to inhibit or kill cancer cells.

One of the most advanced features putting RGCC at least 10 years ahead of its time is the ability to test cancer stem cells from the patient’s own blood! Quoting the RGCC site, oncologists primarily rely on statistical analysis of large treatment trials to decide which drugs to use for specific cancers. Chemosensitivity testing offered through RGCC (chemotherapies, biologic therapies and natural substances) involves testing an individual’s own cancer cells in the laboratory to identify which drugs and natural substances demonstrate the best response

Therapeutic concept

The tumor consists of several subgroups of cells (subpopulations) with different features. One of the subsets actually drives the progress of the disease, the resistance to therapy and the relapse. This subset is called cancer stem cell like cells or tumor initiating cells. When a patient is treated and the cancer cells may be destroyed, then when the compatible diagnostic does not discover any signal, the cancer cells remaining in the body may still consist of a population of 10^9 to 10^12 cells. This limit defines the remission stage of a patient. At that stage only the cancer stem cells may survive and colonize into distant organs and generate metastases in time. Hence the usage of our test is to detect in which therapeutic approach the cancer cell may respond and also during remission, it is essential to detect, discover and explore the features of the disseminated cancer stem cell like, in order to delay further the risk of relapse and also to generate options to treat even these kinds of cells. The main goal is to discover, analyze and screen the cancer cells in every step of the disease.

The following analyses are performed:

  1. Viability testing of chemotherapy drugs- which chemo drugs, biologic drugs (antibody therapies) and other newer cancer therapies work best AGAINST YOUR SPECIFIC TUMOR!
  2. Genetic profiling for guidance about targeted therapies (e.g. monoclonal antibodies) and complete genetic breakdown of all major tumor related genes and tumor receptors.
  3. Viability testing (and identification of mechanisms of action), of natural substances (herbs, supplements, antioxidants) which may be used as part of a complementary, support regimen customized by Dr. Mueller, who is considered an expert in the application of RGCC derived test results in the nutritional realm.
  4. Additional available testing can provide information about how an individual will handle specific chemotherapy agents. Per RGCC, “Our genetic make-up determines whether we are accumulators or rapid metabolizers of certain drugs. This can play a critical role in determining how effective a specific treatment is likely to be for us, and how significant the side effects might be.”

It is well established by literature and validation that the overall response rate from empirical chemotherapy varies from 5 to 7.5% (Royal North Shore Hospital Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol) 2005 Jun;17(4):294). Pharmaceutical industry assesses and validates candidate drugs by utilizing extensive chemosensitivity assays under the term of High Throughput Screening (HTS). Cancer is caused by severe damaged genetic material which leads to random genetic instability. So, each malignancy behaves differently to each individual. Each person has different genetic fingerprinting from others. The logical conclusion is that when it comes to cancer, one size does not fit all!  This is why RGCC is the most advanced tumor cell genetic lab in the world, as they directly test YOUR OWN CANCER STEM CELLS against a wide variety of conventional and natural substances. These can then be employed as part of a comprehensive, synergistic cancer support program.
