is an Acupuncture Physician licensed by the state of Florida. My interest in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine developed out of back injury I incurred while lifting weights in 1985. The injury caused sciatic pain down to my right foot anytime I bent over. I tried pain medications, muscle relaxants and even a series of epidural steroid injections, but none of them gave me lasting relief. Willing to try anything at that point, I went to a local acupuncturist. After six or seven acupuncture treatments along with taking herbs and changing my diet the pain was gone. I was sold!
At that time in my life, I was an engineer. And as an engineer I was curious how tiny needles could stop the pain that Western medicine had failed to relieve. So I began reading all that was available on acupuncture and even successfully used acupressure on friends and myself. In 1992, I decided to forego my engineering career and pursue a career in acupuncture.
I attended the National College of Oriental Medicine, where I earned a Masters of Oriental Medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude. After graduating, in 1995, I opened a private practice in Winter Park, Florida. In 1996, I received advanced training in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Xi Yuan hospital in Beijing, China. While in China, I was also introduced to the healing art of Qigong.
